Dawn qualified as a physiotherapist from Kings College London in 2000 and began her career in the NHS, spending time at Kings College Hospital London and Addenbrookes Cambridge where she also worked with the Cambridge University sports teams. Dawn then achieved a Masters degree at Birmingham University. This allowed her to gain membership to the specialist physiotherapy group the MACP. Recently she worked with the team GB physios at English Institute for Sport advising on how to use the Pilates equipment as part of the athletes rehab programmes. As well as running her own business Body Rehab Studios, she has worked with Brighton Marathon as the official physiotherapist at the Exhibition and on the finish line.
Every runner fears sustaining an injury as it can sometimes mean weeks off training as well as missed competitions. There are many ways to limit your chances of injury in the first place – the right footwear, the right training approach, and taking time to warm up and cool down properly.
